Melanie Vincent has worked in the fashion industry for over 20 years. Mainly as a creative pattern cutter – there is nothing she doesn’t know about shape and fit after working for Jigsaw, Nicole Farhi, Farhi, Reiss, Allegra Hicks, John Galliano, Mulberry, Liberty of London and Cabbages and Roses - to name but a few.
Mel moved to Australia in 2010. She noticed a huge gap in the market for simple classic clothes, knitwear and jersey wear, which was tasteful and most definitely affordable. With an urge to keep busy and fill this gap Mel started Vic and Bert.
Although running her beautiful boutique in Lorne, Mel still manages to do some freelance work for some great designers here in Australia.
It doesn’t just stop at clothes – her boutique has great vintage home pieces, “In another life I would’ve been an interior designer!
